A Year in Poetry: A Treasury of Classic and Modern Verses for Every Date on the Calendar
Published in Hardcover by Crown Pub (October, 1995)
Authors: Thomas E. Foster, Elizabeth C. Guthrie, Peter Ginna, and Richard Wilbur
Average review score:

Poetry
This is an anthology for thoughtful people. Every poem is excellent. There is an interesting reason for each poem's inclusion. I wish these editors would write another book.

A creative, varied, and compulsively readable anthology
"A Year in Poetry" offers 365 poems for each day of the year. The true genius of this anthology comes from the intriguing use of dates in the poems. Sometimes the date comes from the poem's title, sometimes it is the date on which the poem was composed by the author, and sometimes the date is related to historical events depicted in the poem.

The first thing I did when I saw this book was turn to significant dates in my life (birthdays, anniversaries, deaths) and read the poem for that day. It was more revealing than a horoscope, and much more engaging! I learned from this book that my wedding anniversary falls on the same day that Cleopatra committed suicide, commemorated in the text with an excerpt from Shakespeare.

This anthology is not a cheesy collection of "feel-good" poems. Some of these poems will inspire you, others will depress you, some might confuse you. There is a wide range of styles and authors in this book. There are poets that are familiar, and poets I've never heard of. Overall, the collection of poetry in this book makes me want to read much more than just the "poem of the day."

This book offers a great way to bring poetry into your daily life, and for those who are already poetry fanatics, this book presents poems in a new and intriguing light. It also provides a whole range of gift opportunities--who wouldn't like to read a poem composed on their birthday? This anthology wonderfully displays the variety, beauty and meaning of English and American poetry.

Yesterday's Flame (Time Passages Romance Series)
Published in Paperback by Jove Pubns (February, 1900)
Author: Elizabeth Hallam
Average review score:

The best so far!
This is the best novel I've read so far from this talented author. Time travel stories are tricky to handle, but Ms. Hallam does it as well as any writer I've found. You have to read carefully, though, because she sprinkles little details throughout her books that turn out to be very important later on. It takes a really skilled writer to do this. I love her work and love this story of old San Francisco. It may be difficult to find (it was for me!), but it's worth the search.

Great book
This is a great book. I like the firefighting perspective of it and I thought it was a great book. Buy it now.

You Owe Me
This book is fantastic reading. I was a little annoyed at the beginning with one of the main character but slowing I came to love that character. Of course every book needs at least a villain but the villain in this book is not your everyday 2-dimensional character. I would recommend everyone to read this book.

i really owe the book something.
it is one of penny jordan's best works.the characters are potrayed very well.it is worth reading.i have recommended my friends to read this book.

A Young Woman After God's Own Heart
This book is brilliant with loads of insight to help teens develop their own personal walk with God.

Each chapter is filled with helpful suggestions rounded off with with a challenging heart response, a practical "to Do List" to help motivate & a short bible study.
I am presently working through this book with my 11 year old daughter & it's providing her with the tools to move on in her christian walk without me being there.

A Useful Handbook and Reference Guide
A fine marriage of the practical and the esoteric, this is a
sound and useful book for spiritual seekers as well as energy workers. I have purchased many copies - I give them to colleagues and students alike. This one should be in your personal library.

Your Seven Energy Centers
... - I bought it ... last year and I use it all the time as a superb reference book. It has more than enough information to enable everyone from complete beginners to more knowledgeable folk to understand and learn about how our chakras work and what they do and mean. It is well laid out with graphics and clear explanations. Please, if you get chance, find this book and keep it by your bedside - it is wonderful for healers (I am a Reiki master) and spiritualists alike.

Excellent! Well done!
I read this book to my child and it's excellent! Actually i know it's only for children but i enjoyed reading it too! It was absolutely lovely! i really recommend this book to others. It was recommended to me by my good friend, Liz. She is also lovely. But this book shows children the aspects of homes and sharing and should not be selfish. This is important for everyone to learn, and the sooner the better. So read this book!

lovely and engaging
It's difficult to find good Orthodox reading material for kids...so this find was a delight. Though it supposed to be for older readers, my two year old adores this book. The illustrations are beautiful and the story teaches about life in an Orthodox monastery in a simple, gentle manner. All of my kids godsisters are getting one for Christmas this year!
